Sugared Sirloins

For a complete meal, serve with Gutsy Red Pepper Gazpacho, Jalapeño-Lime Corn on the Cob and Angel Food Cake with Berries and Whipped Cream.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup dark brown sugar
  • 5 tablespoons grill seasoning blend, such as McCormick brand Montreal Steak Seasoning
  • 6 sirloin steaks (10-12 ounces), 1 1/4-1 1/2-inch thick
  • Cooking spray

Preparation

Pre-heat grill or grill pan to high.

Mix sugar and steak seasoning. Pat steaks dry. Coat the steaks completely on both sides with sugar and spice blend. Wash up. Spray grill or grill pan and cook steaks for 10-16 minutes for medium-rare to medium-well doneness. Let stand for 5 minutes for juices to redistribute and serve.
